Main Image
The main image of Taylor Swift allows the audience to figure out who the main article is about. The fierce look on her face implicates a sense of sophistication and a sense of focus.  The sub-heading underneath stating '2014 Taylor Swift Woman Of The Year' goes well with the main image as Swift has obviously put in a huge amount of effort to be given that title  and this can be seen from the main image too as she looks driven and determined.

Background
The background of this magazine is a  blue colour with a darker gradient on the top and bottom.  This means that the editors want Swift to have the spotlight therefore the lighter shade of blue is proportionate to her face suggesting everything is about her. It makes her stand out and emphasises her sleek and sharp features.

Masthead
The masthead 'Billboard' is big and bold to make it stand out so fans of the magazine can easily tell it apart. It takes up approximately a quarter of the page, going sidewards, passed Taylor Swift's face. 

Price, Issue Date, Website and barcode
This magazine cover does contain the issue date which is December 15th 2014 and it does contain the magazines website. Both of these are situated under billboard. In my opinion I believe they have secredted this information in tiny writing is because it is not that important.  The price and barcode are no where to be seen and they are normally situated together. This makes me assume that this is on the back page as Billboard do need to include these to make some sort of profit. 



Main Image
The main image of Rihanna is quite provactive. It shows her backside against the camera with her head tilted to face the camera. She is exposing quite a lot of skin by wearing skin tight denim shorts along with a white tank top. This angle of a pose makes Rihanna attractive and could potentially be targetted at men. Rihanna could be seen as being 'objectified' in this main picture. 

Masthead
The masthead of this magazine is called 'RollingStone'. It is seen to be covered my Rihanna's bright hair to give it more of a 3D effect. The colour of the writing is in red to match the theme of the magazine. Red has many connotations icnluding love and suspense. 

Main Headline
The main headline of this magazine is 'Rihanna Strikes Back' this means that something has happend in Rihanna's life to make her feel defensive about herself. This headline goes very well with the image as Rihanna is seen to be turning her head and whne you strike at someone it is likely for someone to turn their head. This can show that the main news story is about this singer. 

Background
The background of this magazine cover is a part of the image taken of Rihanna. She is stood on the balcony, holding onto the railing. This could imply that as she is very high she is not scared of heights therefore suggesting she has no fear. 



Pull Quote
'Everthing I Do I Do To Be The Greatest'- This quote highlights confidence which can be extremely inspiring. Viewers would want to read on to see how Justin Beiber carries this trait of his without seeming too boastful.

The main image of Justin Beiber has a circle of a black shadow around it to make it stand out more, creating a lasting 3D emphasis. He has a very defined face bringing out his beautifully structured cheekbones. Beiber has a slight squint in his eyes which is significantly popular with females. 

Colour
The four main colours that are used consist of Blue, White, Red and yellow. All of these colours contrast very well and are bright to bring reader attention. The colours do not overwhelm the audience as too many can do this.
